Canvas Prints (Giclee)
The word "giclée" is derived from the French language word "le gicleur" meaning "nozzle", or more specifically "gicler" meaning "to squirt, spurt, or spray". We use giclée inkjet printing to make reproductions of our original two-dimensional artwork. Per print, our professionally-produced giclée prints are much more expensive than the four-color offset lithography process traditionally used for such reproductions. Giclée printing has the added advantage of allowing us total control of the production of our images, including the colors and the substrates on which they are printed. All of our giclée prints are heat sealed with a laminate for protection, as well as, eliminating reflection while maintaining color contrast and detail. You will notice our giclée prints are difficult to distinguish from the original work of art, thus giving our customers the "look and feel" of original art "without the extra zeros added to the price"!!!!
Standard Prints - Matting
We ship all prints matted, and if requested, framed. In most cases prints are at least double matted. We mat our prints in the highest quality mat board that best blends with each individual print. All framed prints will come with a nameplate showing the name of the print and the artist's name. The matted/frame sizes are based on inside frame measurements. The actual image size will be slightly smaller to allow for matting. Giclee' prints (prints on canvas) are not matted; therefore, the image size is the actual frame measurement. Framing Frame color choices are basic variations of brown, black, and gold. Unless otherwise specified, we will supply the frame that we feel best suits the print.
Please email us if you would like more information.
We produce our own prints, thereby being able to ensure the best possible quality. The highest quality paper is used for printing the artwork. This high-grade paper gives the color in our prints a very vivid appearance. All of our Giclee' prints (prints on canvas) are printed on the highest quality canvas and a sealer is applied to protect the print.
