"In the early days of the 1900's and on through the 1920's, many a small country church was known as The Meeting House and for good reason. Those early builders knew the church would often have to be used as a church for many denominations, a civic center, a voting booth, a Saturday night dinner-on-the-ground establishment and sometimes, even the schoolhouse.
